Why FlipFlash learning works
FlipFlash Learning isn't about passive reading or rote memorisation. It draws on some of the most effective, evidence-based principles from cognitive science and educational psychology, built into every part of how a student interacts with the 5x5 board — turning revision into an active, structured process rather than simply reviewing notes.
Students condense a topic into 25 key facts, each paired with a hand-drawn visual on a physical tile, then work through the grid — flipping tiles to test recall, with any mistakes prompting an immediate reset for that row. This dual-coding, active-recall approach makes information easier to remember, and is particularly effective for SEND learners.
